Praktizierte Partnerschaft mit dem South Carolina United FC

Seit Anfang Februar 2014 ist Lena Steindorf zu einem dreimonatigem Praktikum an der University of South Carolina in Columbia S.C. .Sie wird dabei von den Familien Laura und John Beard und Sally und Ron Tryon  und auch von der Familie von Sonja Burrows aktiv unterstützt: Alles bekannte Namen im Westerwald. Sie haben die Partner- und Freundschaft zwischen den beiden Clubs aus Columbia und Montabaur immer stetig weiterentwickelt.

Fußball kommt da bei der 24jährigen ehemaligen Rechtsverteidigerin des 1. FFC Montabaur nicht zu kurz.

Sie hat für die Zeit des Aufenthaltes in den USA das Training der Bambini-Gruppe „Columbia Great White Sharks“ übernommen. Auf dem Bild ist sie mit Ihrer Gruppe und  Ron Tryon zu sehen.

Geübt werden Basics wie passen, Ball annehmen, schießen usw.. Auch versucht Lena den Mädchen beizubringen, dass es sinnvoll ist, wenn nicht alle gleichzeitig zum Ball rennen. Nach dem ersten Training stand am Samstag gleich ein Spiel gegen die „Lexington Lynx“ – ein weiteres Bambini-Team des South Carolina United FC – an. Gespielt wird 5 gegen 5. Gleich zu Beginn wollten die „Kleinen“ Lena zeigen, was sie drauf haben und gingen mit einem deutlichen 7 : 0 als Sieger vom Platz.

Die stolze Neu-Trainerin freut sich, dass die Bambinis bemüht waren, ihre Positionen im Spiel einzuhalten. Das zweite Bild zeigt das Taktiktraining auf dem Whiteboard. Hier lernen die Soccer Girls was „defender“, „midfielder“ und „forward“ beim Fußball für eine Bedeutung haben.

Ron Tryon und Lena Steindorf sind der Meinung, dass ihr Team eindeutig das süßeste ist. Das zeigen die beiden Bilder deutlich.

Viel Erfolg für die Zukunft und noch eine gute Zeit beim Praktikum wünschen wir aus dem Westerwald.

Since the beginning of February 2014 Lena Steindorf is doing a three-months-internship at the University of South Carolina in Columbia, SC.. The families of Laura and John Beard, Sally and Ron Tryon and Sonja Burrows are supporting her in every way they can. These are all well known families in the Westerwald-area. They have always been doing their best to extend the partner- and friendship between the two clubs from Columbia and Montabaur.

Besides her internship the 24-year-old former right-back of the 1.FFC Montabaur also has some time for soccer. During the time of her stay in the US she is coaching the “Columbia Great White Sharks”, a recreational 6-year-old girls team. You can see her, the team and assisting coach Ron Tryon in one of the pictures.

They are practicing the basics like passing and stopping the ball, shooting, etc.. Lena is also trying to teach the girls not to run towards the ball all the time, but rather to hold their positions. After their first practice it was already time for a match against the “Lexington Lynx”, a different rec team of SCUFC, on Saturday. They played 5 vs. 5 and the “White Sharks” showed their new coach that they have what it takes and won 7-0.

The proud new coach was very happy that her girls were trying hard to hold their positions. The second picture is showing her teaching the girls the basic tasks of a “defender”, “midfielder”, and “forward” on a small whiteboard.

Ron Tryon and Lena Steindorf agree that their team is by far the cutest and the pictures definitely are visual proof of that.
